With Earth Day approaching this April 22, it's time to go big and go green! Here in San Diego, there are plenty of ways to help show appreciation for our amazing planet.
Take a Trip to the Flower Fields
It's 50 acres of a floral wonderland. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are going to be blooming this spring and it's a sight to see. Spend time on the rolling hillsides while you gaze at the roses, orchids, sweet pea blossoms, and stunning poinsettias. If you head out on Earth Day (April 22), you'll even get to enjoy live musical performances. Admission is $8-$16 and you can find more information here.
Head to an Environmental Fair
The best part about this fair? It's absolutely free! That means that you'll want to bring the entire family out. This April 22 from 10 am to 5 pm, you can join your friendly San Diego neighbors at Balboa Park for some education, fun, and entertainment. Want to learn more about some eco-friendly steps you can start taking in your life? Great! There will be over 300 exhibitors. Of course, that's not all. This fair is filled to the brim with fun. From magic shows to live entertainment, you won't be disappointed.
